Firstly you have to find an image that is not too similar to previous issues both in terms of topic as well as colour. Next you need an image that is striking and has an obvious focal point to drawer the reader in. Thirdly there's the issue of composition - do all the important elements of the image fit in the space given? Finally you have to consider whether the image has enough space to place text. It's an exhausting process that involves a lot of stropping, huffing and puffing and jaffa cakes.We always get there in the end though!
