How to add impact to images with the Lighting Effects filter in Photoshop

Photoshop’s Lighting Effects filter lets us add colour to dramatic spotlights to match the colours in the image.

By clicking on the swatch under Colorize, we can click on a part of the image to select a colour.

Photoshop has options to increase the vibrancy of the selected colour, so the same hue is kept.

Don’t forget to duplicate the background layer before applying the Lighting Effects from the Render options in the Filter menu.
