Find colour anywhere with the Palette Cube
Colour is everything in design, and getting the perfect shade is something that artists strive for. Adjustments can help with this, and there are plug-ins that can aid you in your quest for a colour, but Palette has invented a piece of hardware rather like Photoshop’s Eyedropper tool.
With its intuitive sensor, the Cube can find any colour in the real world, and produce a hex code for you to use in Photoshop; perfect if you’re working to a colour scheme, and great for finding your favourite shades to use in your projects. You just need to tap it to turn it on, pair it with your iOS device via Bluetooth, and calibrate it in the calibration cap supplied; the free app can translate your colours into hex codes and LAB codes, along with RGB and CMYK. You can favourite certain colours by tapping the star in the top-right corner, and you can send your colours either by email or Twitter to a friend, or your followers.
The Cube is quick, incredibly user-friendly, portable and looks fantastic. It’s a useful gadget for finding a hue, and it’s great for finding the shades you wish to input into a Gradient Map. Cube is priced at £149.95 incl. VAT and is exclusively distributed by Color Confidence in the UK. For more information about the Cube, visit: www.colorconfidence.com/cube.
