Head to your Preferences in Photoshop (in Windows versions, this is in the Edit menu; Mac users go to the ‘Photoshop’ menu), and click on Performance.
Boost the RAM slider up to the maximum ideal range under Memory Usage. Remember to restart Photoshop once these changes have been made.
