A quick method for making colour stand out in your images with the Sponge tool
Load up your image into any version of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and duplicate the the Background layer to begin with (Cmd/Ctrl+J).
Locate your Sponge tool and in the Options bar set its Mode to Saturate and Flow to 30%.
Tick the Vibrance box and select a brush size that covers the area of the colour you want to adjust and set it to 0% Hardness.
Paint with the tool over the colour in your image you want to improve, You should see the saturation of the colour increase, adding more life to the image.
Be careful not to overdo the effect, as noise may start to gather and degrade the quality.
