Anyone who is experienced with Photoshop will tell you just how much they rely on keyboard shortcuts day-to-day

Keyboard shortcuts will not only speed up your basic commands, but will also make the difficult tasks a little easier.

You can assign new keyboard shortcuts to your desired commands by going to Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts.

Begin by choosing either menus, panels or tools, and then click on their current shortcuts shown to edit them. New Sets can be saved using the middle icon by the top bar.

  • Thanks for the tip. It’s really crucial for any pro to use shortcuts, because sometimes the option you actually need is like a few levels deep in some menu and it can take you like up to a minute to get it it (especially if you just can’t recall where exactly you previously saw it). Plus, it’s a game changer if you can just set your favorite keywords as you like them. I’t’s just convenient and time (and money) efficient. And that’s a big thing. 🙂

Nice tip. I use many shortcuts but need to learn more. Kenneth said it right, too often it takes way too long to find that menu item. Now, just how to remember the shortcut… Is there a way to print out your set?

  • Hi Steve, thanks for your comment. You’ll be glad to hear that there is a way to print them out…

In Photoshop, choose Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts then choose either Application Menus, Panel Menus, or Tools and hit Summarize.

Save this as a HTML file (add .html to the end of the filename) and you should be able to display this file in a web browser and print it from there too!
