Photoshop Tip: Saving out Layer Styles

Layer Styles offer possibly an unlimited number of effects, and are all applied inside one menu. Here’s how to save them and use them again quickly without starting over

When you’ve done customising your Layer Styles to the way you need them to look, they can be saved out as a preset. Just use the New Style button in the menu.

Give the new Style a name and tick both Include Layer Effects and Include Layer Blending Options boxes if you need too.

This means they’re now available inside the Styles palette (Window>Styles), shown as new preview box. On any new layer, you can click once on its preview in the Styles palette to apply.
