A great way to add strands of hair or fur back into an image using the Smudge tool in Photoshop

Smudge tool in Photoshop

Set the tool to around 60% Strength and with a size the same as the thickness of the existing hair.

Add a new blank layer and tick the option Sample All Layers before smudging.

Zoom in and brush in an outward direction from where the hair starts coming out. Try not to go too far out as this can look unrealistic.

I use the smudge tool to replace hair but what I see here are whiskers of white that are not mimmicking the colour they are originating from. There are 3 or 4 whiskers that have come out of the black stripe of the tiger I would be interested in knowing how this achieved?

I believe Derek, since you did not receive an answer, that this is the original picture and they did Nothing to it!
