Tackle text with this week’s Q&A!

It’s very easy to get text wrong. Picking the right fonts can be difficult, but so is correcting the spacing and even deciding on the case that you want your text to be.

The Character menu can help. It’s located on the tool bar between the workspace and the Adjustment menu, with a small ‘A’ icon, and it contains all the necessary tools and features you’ll need to correct your text. You can change the spacing between individual letters as well as spaces, and you can choose to bold, italicise, underline or strike- through your words, as well as whether or not you want to choose caps, lower case or small caps.

Experiment with the various text options and decide exactly what complements your text. Every font is different – some look great on some pictures and not so good on others – so decide on a set of characters that look right in your project, and just have fun deciding on the feel of the picture with the various text options in the Character menu.
