The best way to test out your editing skills is to create a yin and yang. To begin, create a new document and fill with black; find a Yin Yang shape and drag it onto your canvas. Resize and Simplify the layer (Ctrl/right-click). Let’s use it as a template.  Press F11 and go to File>Place, choose the fire and water stock images. Place them over the template and Simplify the layer again. Use the Magic Wand tool (A) to select and delete the background, and use the Liquify filter (Filter>Distort) to reshape stock images of fire and water. You may need to cut and paste several images to create a nice texture. Use the Free Transform (Cmd/CtrlT) and the Eraser tool (E) to blend the images, and the Hue/Saturation (Cmd/Ctrl+U) to adjust the colours.
